Since I know that there are a few favorite questions out there that go along with a pregnancy announcement, here is a post to answer some of those. If you don't really care about baby-ish details, if you get bored by chit chat, or if you happen to be male, feel free to skip this post.
Q: When are you due?
A: Early June. Since Cambrie was a stinkin' two weeks late, I'm going to stick with the vague due date, at least in public. That way there's no special day that will depress me as it comes and goes. For those doing the math, right now I'm 15 weeks and some change.
Q: How have you been feeling?
A: I have been very lucky with both pregnancies so far. Though I was sicker this time around than with Cambrie, that's not saying much. Now that I've rolled on into the second trimester, I'm feeling just peachy. A little tired and that's it. (Please don't hate me, friends who are veritable saints for what they endure to bring children into the world! You are all my heroes!)
Q: Are you having a boy or girl?
A: Don't you wish you knew! ...Just kidding, I wish I did, too. Nope. Don't know that yet. Check back in mid-January.
Q: Are you going to find out boy vs. girl?
A: I can't stand the thought of waiting longer than I have to to find out the gender. It's so awkward calling the baby "the baby," and I can't bring myself to think "it." Since you all know I won't be using the ambiguous and incorrect pronoun "they" (totally reminds me of switching papers to grade in middle school-- "Well, they said 34, do they get a point for that?"), I think it's best we get this little gender issue clarified as soon as possible. :-)
Q: Do you want a boy or a girl?
A: I'll answer this sometimes touchy question because I'm not feeling very politically correct today. I would love a boy this time around--it'd be fun to have at least one of each. That, and I think Cambrie would be adorable with a little baby brother. Now for those who are huffing and puffing because they think I'm horrible for hoping for one gender over another, RELAX. We would of course be delighted with either boy or girl, as long as the child is mostly human.
Q: Do you have names picked out?
A: Not really--just throwin' around some ideas.
Q: Ooh! Ooh! What are your ideas?
A: Eh, I think we'll keep those under wraps until we settle on something permanent. Thank you for your curiosity, though!
Well, I think that about covers the most common conversation topics. Thanks again for everyone's love and congratulations. Hope this Christmas season continues to be slightly more joyful than stressful for all of you!

Oh my goodness! Congratulations!! That is so exciting. I think it's a good idea that you aren't relying on the due date (I just remember thinking "bless her heart" every day at work when I saw you overdue), although you have a different Dr. this time so hopefully he/she will be right about the due date! he he
